Flow. 50: A Strap to Keep You Honest

Aired -

Jill Rodgers

I dabbled in so many forms of movement growing up (skating, dance, volleyball), but it wasn't until a friend dragged me to a yoga class in the early aughts that I was able to fully connect with myself. I remember...
Lots of work with a strap as we practice the skill of pushing out through the heel. The strap can provide feedback about where the leg is in space, how much force you're applying, and keep you honest about the position of the hips. Reclined, seated, and standing shapes. A little chat about yoga's concept of sthira and sukha (steadiness and ease). Two blocks and a strap recommended.
